Student Spotlight: Q&A with Sustainability Management Student Hezekiah Williams
Sustainability Management M.S. student Hezekiah Williams has been on a mission to build community among his peers at the School of Professional Studies. A native of Edwards, Mississippi, and graduate of Jackson State University, Williams is a Columbia HBCU Fellow, an officer in the SPS Student Government (SPSSG), and an SPSSG Ambassador to the school’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Committee. He was most recently named the recipient of the Student Dean’s Excellence Award as well as the Campbell Award in recognition of his academic excellence, professional promise, and commitment to building University community and pride. After Columbia, Williams will begin a doctoral program in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Notre Dame. He spoke to us about how he aims to contribute to a more inclusive environment through his work with the DEIA Committee.

SUMA Student Is Closing the Loop on Urban Food Waste
Riyana Razalee graduated from Columbia's Sustainability Management program in 2020, with a determination to regenerate food systems and communities. The SUMA program attracted Riyana because of its holistic approach to sustainability, which she is now leveraging as Director of Sustainability at Re-Nuble - a Manhattan-based urban food waste company.

Learning to Address Sustainability in Corporate Decision-Making
Pol Lezcano began his career in management consulting before relocating to Spain and working as a corporate governance and sustainability consultant at KPMG. In his new role, Pol identified how increasingly critical sustainability was becoming in corporate decision-making. He decided to attend the M.S. in Sustainability Management program at Columbia's School of Professional Studies (SPS) to learn how to tackle this.

Steering Wealth Towards Sustainable Investing
Sustainability Management student Dazzle Bhujwala has over 15 years of global Wealth Management experience with leading international banks. Over the years, he has advised Sovereign Wealth Funds on their global multi-asset portfolios and millionaires through their journey of wealth accumulation, preservation, and succession. Dazzle was drawn to the SUMA program, as he is committed to leveraging his finance and business expertise to align growing private wealth towards a more sustainable future.
